with your data

Vote-Scope is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard technical data such as an abbreviated IP address, browser and device category, referring page, pages visited and timestamps to deliver and secure the site and provide aggregate Web Analytics.

With your consent where required, Vote-Scope also uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, both loaded through Google Tag Manager. We measure overall audience and controlled interactions with maps, tables, charts and links. Clarity provides heatmaps and session replays that help us identify usability problems. Clarity uses balanced masking for sensitive content and form fields. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses, and the page addresses we send it are stripped of their query strings. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses or riding-search text.

Vote-Scope does not maintain visitor accounts or advertising profiles — but our advertising partners do, and the limit we place on ourselves does not extend to them. Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, Mediavine and Mediavine's advertising partners retain technical, analytics or advertising data according to their respective settings and policies. The analytics events Vote-Scope configures are limited to a controlled list of values decided in advance; free-form text is never one of them. Advertising providers have their own retention periods, described in the Mediavine notice appended below.

Cloudflare Web Analytics provides aggregate, cookie-free audience and performance measurement. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity are loaded by Google Tag Manager and governed by Google Consent Mode. Where European Union, United Kingdom or Swiss rules apply, the consent management platform of our advertising partner, Journey by Mediavine, asks you first: measurement stays switched off until you allow it, and never loads if you refuse. That platform also records your choices for advertising vendors. Elsewhere — in Canada in particular — the law does not require that prompt and we have chosen not to show one: audience measurement therefore starts by default. That is our decision, not a technical constraint. You can still switch it off wherever you are: Google publishes a browser opt-out for Google Analytics, Microsoft publishes an opt-out for Clarity, and blocking cookies for this site stops both. Some content may come from third parties (Polymarket widgets, Substack embeds, video players, etc.). These services are governed by their own privacy policies. Vote-Scope does not use its own measurement data to create advertising profiles or to track you across unrelated websites. That is a rule we apply to our analytics tools; it says nothing about advertising. Mediavine's partners do combine data across sites and devices — section 4 describes what they do.

Vote-Scope displays programmatic advertising managed by Journey by Mediavine. Mediavine serves content and advertisements and may use first- and third-party cookies, tags, pixels, beacons and similar technologies. Depending on your choices and applicable law, data processed for advertising may include your IP address, operating system and version, device type, site language, browser type, approximate location, referral source, pages and advertisements viewed, interactions, cookie or advertising identifiers, and information that Mediavine's partners have collected independently. Vote-Scope does not provide names or email addresses to Mediavine.

For interest-based advertising, Mediavine and its partners may combine this information across devices, browsers, applications and other sources; create identifiers or interest segments; and share, license, sell or otherwise disclose data through the advertising bidstream. If you refuse personalized advertising, you may still see contextual or non-personalized ads based on the page rather than your interests.

Where required, Journey's consent platform lets you accept, reject or revise advertising choices. Use Update Privacy Settings in the footer; in applicable U.S. states, use Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. The provider-maintained Mediavine Advertising Privacy Notice v. 1.2 is appended to this page and gives the complete current details, including retention, international transfers and contact information. The Vibe Match game shows you cards to swipe, then compares our guess with the party you name. Those answers calibrate the model. Here is exactly what they contain.

What is never collected: no email, no name, no IP address, no age, no gender, no session identifier or cookie that could link you from one visit to the next. We create no account and no profile.

Your postal code never reaches us. If you choose to enter one to find your riding, it is converted into a riding inside your browser, on your device. Only the riding travels; the postal code itself is never transmitted, recorded, or stored anywhere.

What is sent when you answer the final question: your card answers, the party our model proposed, the party you named, how well you felt it read you, the site language, your riding if you chose one, and the date. Nothing else. A random identifier tells questionnaires apart without pointing to anyone.

Why it is anonymous and stays that way. Quebec's smallest riding holds several thousand voters, and the game is built so that no combination of answers can single out a person: it asks nothing that would distinguish you. That is a design decision, not a happy accident.

Our partners have no access. These answers are not passed to Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, our advertising provider, or any third party. They feed no ad targeting and are never sold.

Retention. Individual questionnaires are deleted after 90 days at the latest. The database's point-in-time backup may hold them for up to 30 days more, so 120 days in total. Only aggregate statistics — which describe no one — are kept beyond that. An automatic purge runs daily and is monitored.

On your device. Your game in progress is saved in your browser's local storage so you can pick it back up. It is yours: clearing the site's data erases it for good.

We use reasonable technical measures (HTTPS, static architecture, secure hosting via Cloudflare) to protect the site and limit risk. No system, however, is entirely immune to incidents.

In the unlikely event of a security breach involving personal information, we will promptly investigate and notify affected individuals as well as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC), in accordance with PIPEDA requirements, and take appropriate steps to limit harm.

Vote-Scope may display or link to third-party services (Polymarket, Substack, etc.). These services are independent and have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

The site is intended for a general adult audience interested in electoral and sports analysis. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

You may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information and to opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising, depending on where you live. For data controlled by Vote-Scope, contact us below. For data processed by Mediavine for advertising on this site, use the privacy controls in the footer or contact privacy@mediavine.com. Requests concerning Google, Microsoft or other independent providers may also need to be directed to those providers.

Kim Leclerc is responsible for compliance with this policy. Vote-Scope is operated from Ontario, Canada. This policy is governed by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the applicable laws of Ontario.

We may update this policy as the site, its advertising partners or privacy requirements evolve. Material changes will be indicated by an updated date.
