B.C. election 2026: live results
From the moment polls close at 8 p.m. Pacific time on Saturday, October 24, this page carries the live count across all 93 ridings: votes, ballot boxes reporting, seats, and our race calls the moment they are safe enough to publish. It updates on its own.

Two counts, not one
-
Tonight: the initial count
Elections BC counts the vast majority of ballots, box by box: advance voting, election day, mail-in ballots received in time. That is the count this page follows live.
-
A week later: the final count
Mail-in ballots that arrived late and absentee ballots (cast outside the voter’s own riding) are only counted then. In 2024, that second count moved some margins by more than two points and reversed Surrey-Guildford.
-
What it means tonight
A riding can have every box counted and still be “too close to call tonight”. We only call a winner when the lead also survives what is left to count the following week.

Polls close
Elections BC begins publishing initial-count results. This page reads the official source roughly every ninety seconds.

The first boxes
A lead of a few hundred votes means nothing yet: the order boxes report in manufactures mirages.

The calls
The moment a riding clears our certainty threshold, it is called and changes colour on the map. Close races wait, sometimes until the final count.
- Late night
The picture tonight
The count riding by riding, the likely make-up of the Legislative Assembly, and the seats still hanging on the final count.
When do we call a winner?
Being ahead in the count is not enough. We only call a winner when nothing left to count can change the result, including the ballots that will only be counted the following week.
- Called
The lead can no longer be overtaken, neither by the boxes still out nor by the final count: the riding is called and changes colour.
- Too close
When the margin is within what the final count can still move, we wait, even with 100% of boxes in. Better late than wrong.
- Two models
A call goes out only when our two independent models both judge it safe for the same party; otherwise a person decides. When in doubt, we wait.
