    Nada Boumeftah

    A lawyer specializing in criminal law, penal law, and youth protection, Nada Boumeftah founded her own law firm in 2016. Her career has taken her from the courtrooms of Quebec’s Far North, where she practiced for more than five years, to courthouses in various regions of Quebec. A trilingual Quebecker of Moroccan origin, the QLP candidate in Maurice-Richard is also a legal columnist, notably for ICI RDI and Noovo, where she works to make the law accessible to the general public and help people understand how the justice system works. She is involved with the pro bono legal clinics at Saint-Michel and HocheLégal, and mentors the next generation of lawyers at the law schools of McGill University, the University of Montreal, and the University of Sherbrooke. She is also an ambassador for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Montreal. Mr. Boumeftah plans to spend the coming weeks meeting with residents and organizations in Maurice-Richard, particularly to discuss housing, education, integration, and access to justice.
