    Enrico Ciccone

    Enrico Ciccone

Enrico Ciccone Elected for the first time on October 1, 2018, Enrico Ciccone works with all elected officials and organizations to contribute to the economic and social development of the Marquette riding. Listening to stakeholders on a daily basis, he ensures that their requests receive prompt, concrete responses. Enrico Ciccone was instrumental in setting up the Marquette MP Hockey Tournament to benefit community organizations in Dorval and Lachine, in collaboration with local elected officials. As the pandemic has had a major impact on the mental health of Quebec's youth, the MP for Marquette has put in place initiatives to break the isolation of young people in Lachine and Dorval through the "on bouge" virtual contest and the organization of conferences with Quebec athletes for young people in the riding. He took action on youth safety in Quebec sports by introducing a bill to prohibit fighting in sports activities involving young people under the age of 18. His involvement in active politics since 2018 was motivated by his desire to better protect Quebec athletes and encourage the adoption of a healthy, active lifestyle. In this sense, Mr. Ciccone has also responded to the crying need for prevention and management of concussions related to recreational and sports activities by introducing the Bill to amend the Act respecting safety in sports in order to establish the Passe-Sports registry to collect data on the state of health of people under 18 following a concussion. "I have had the privilege of serving the citizens of Marquette since 2018. It's important for me to surpass myself and give my all in everything I undertake, and I pledge to continue listening, supporting and bringing the priorities and concerns of Lachinois and Dorvalois energetically to the National Assembly. What's more, accessibility to a healthy, active and safe lifestyle for all Quebecers is paramount. Sports, recreation and healthy lifestyles are more than just an issue, they're a priority, and in that sense, I'm very proud to have been able to table PL196 and PL692." - Enrico Ciccone, Member of Parliament for Marquette
