Madeleine Féquière
Madeleine Féquière was, until very recently, Consul General of Canada in Chicago, where she represented Canadian interests in the American Midwest. Prior to this appointment, she oversaw and supported global credit risk management at Domtar, where she deployed credit structures in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. A graduate of Concordia University, the PLQ candidate in Chomedey is a recognized expert in leadership, administration, risk management, and international trade. She has held senior management positions globally in several sectors of the economy, including agri-food, technology, software, telecommunications, pulp and paper, and personal care. A seasoned corporate director, Ms. Féquière has more than 25 years of involvement on boards of directors and committees of organizations in the cultural, health, education, and business sectors. She has notably served on the board of Investissement Québec, the board of the Université de Montréal, and the expert committee of the Canadian Centre for Purposeful Leadership. She holds a diploma from the Director Professional Development Program in Governance from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, the IAS.A designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, a mini-MBA from the McGill Executive Institute, and a certificate in finance from HEC Montréal, obtained jointly with the Canadian Credit Institute. A sought-after speaker internationally, she is regularly invited to major conferences in her field and writes articles in specialized journals on global credit. Co-founder of the Excellence Québec initiative, she works on inclusion, diversity, equality, and accessibility by integrating promising young leaders into management, finance, and governance environments.
